The Gym Group - POS Payment

Updated The Gym Group's FitQuest estate by integrating Nayax VPOS Touch payment terminals, enabling support for contactless, NFC, Apple Pay, and Google Pay across the gym chain's fitness assessment kiosks.

The integration required migrating hardware communication from legacy MDB / DEX (coin-op vending machine) protocols to a modern USB-based integration using the Nayax SDK, eliminating unnecessary intermediary hardware and simplifying the overall payment stack.

System reliability in subterranean gym environments - where mobile signal is often absent - was addressed by implementing LAN routing with automated 4G fallback, ensuring payment terminals remained online and operational regardless of cellular/wifi coverage.

Brief

Nayax had discontinued their VPOS terminals used throughout The Gym Group's sites. TGG's FitQuest kiosks required a modern cashless payment solution capable of handling contactless and mobile wallet payments, while remaining reliable in underground gym environments with poor mobile connectivity.
